The sun is dying
Pharaoh is dead, and his heir vanished the same night. Since then the sun has risen a little later every morning, and the priests of Ra whisper what no one dares say aloud: each night, in the darkness of the Duat, the sun's barque is losing its battle with Apep, the serpent of chaos.
Years ago on Reedmarsh, an island in the marshes of the Delta, Hapu the fisherman found a baby floating in a reed basket. Around its neck hung a scarab amulet carved with glyphs no priest could read. Hapu and his wife Meryt raised the foundling as their own.
That foundling was you. And the glyphs on the amulet have started to move.
“One of seven. When the seventh hour of night is swallowed, the barque of Ra will not rise.” The sun is dying, child. And you carry a piece of it.Old Tiye, retired priestess of Isis
Your story begins with a fishing net and a letter for the Vizier in Memphis. Where it ends depends on whom you trust, and Tiye has one warning for you: trust no one who wears the red of Set.
The Egyptians split their world in two. So does the game.

The Black Land
The green ribbon of the Nile: farms, palm groves and cities from the Delta to Nubia. No player can attack you here, and if a crocodile gets you, Anubis weighs your heart and you keep everything you carried.
Cross the river by ferry, sail by reed boat, trade in the markets of Memphis and Thebes.
Deshret · player versus player
The Red Land
Beyond the valley cliffs lies Set's red desert. Out here any player may attack you, and the further you go from the river, the bigger the difference in strength the desert allows.
Die in Deshret and you keep only your three most precious belongings. Strike first and the Eye of Set marks you: then you keep nothing. PvP rules
What awaits in the Two Lands
Everything below is in the game today, and the wiki is generated from the same files the server runs on.
67 spells
Magic you write yourself
Heka is cast from glyph tablets. Cut papyrus reeds, grind soot or red ochre into ink, and inscribe the glyphs of Shu, Nu, Geb and Ra at a temple shrine. Then speak them, from Breath of Shu to Wrath of Ra.
8 tombs
The tombs of the kings
Royal tombs lie beneath the Valley of the Kings. Disarm the pressure plates, check the urns for cobras, slide back the sarcophagus lids, and deal with whatever wakes up. Somewhere down there is a golden death mask.
Fish the marshes, quarry granite, smith sky-iron, brew beer, scribe glyphs and pick the pockets of Memphis, from level 1 to 100. Every ten levels brings a new title, from Reed-cutter to Beloved of Hapi, and Inspiration rewards trying a bit of everything. The wiki lists every unlock.
for new players
Thoth's guidance
Shape your hero on Khnum's Wheel, then let Thoth, god of scribes, walk you through your first steps: a guide scroll, golden arrows, and a star on your map for wherever you need to be.
67 towns
A kingdom to explore
Memphis and the pyramids of Giza, Thebes and its temples, the crocodile city in the Faiyum, the oases of the Western Desert and the gold mines of Nubia. Walk, ride a camel, or study the map first.
12 gods
Gods who answer
Fight in the stance of the lion, the cobra, the ibis or the crocodile, and call on one patron god at a time: Ra's glare, Geb's stand, Isis's healing wings. When you fall, Anubis weighs your heart against the feather of Ma'at.
parties of 5
Companions
Form a party to take on the bosses together. Adopt Meryt's kitten, win a boss's pet, and ride donkeys, camels and horses across the sand.
184 quests
A story still being written
Riddles at Giza, robbed tombs in Thebes, a vizier who seems oddly unsurprised. The saga of the seven scarabs grows with every update. Follow along on the forums.
