Hesy the natron-cutter

A natron-gatherer of the Wadi. Sun-cracked, salt-crusted and very cheerful about both.

Where to find

Wadi Natrun: Giza Plateau

Natron dries the dead and cleans the living. Good for teeth, too. Not that I've many left.
The embalmers of Memphis buy it by the donkey-load. The dead never go out of fashion.
Salt in your eyes, salt in your bread, salt in your dreams. It's a good life.
