Mounts
Ride to cover ground faster (tiles per beat; walking is 1, running 2). A mount's speed comes from its rarity: Common 2, Uncommon 2.25, Rare 2.5, Epic 2.75, Legendary 3 tiles per beat. Some go faster or slower on sand. Each mount's panniers carry extra load. Mount up from your satchel.
Land mounts go where you can walk; you dismount to fight. Water mounts swim the Nile, the lakes and the sea: launch one from the water's edge, and step onto a shore to climb off. Flying mounts go over anything but the tombs and the underground, and come down on the nearest open ground; you can't take off during a fight (in Deshret it takes a few moments, and a blow stops it), and nobody can fight you, or be fought by you, in the air. Lands reached only by a quest's ship (Keftiu, Punt, the Island of the Ka) stay closed to swimmers and fliers until that quest is done.
