Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Haremakhet, First Prophet of Amun at the temple below Gebel Barkal, keeps looking up at the mountain's pinnacle as if it might move. (Requires Ropes for the Fourth Cataract, Devotion 55 and Heka 50.)

2. Stage 1

   The pinnacle of Gebel Barkal is the uraeus of Amun, the cobra on the brow of the Pure Mountain. Men in red have been hammering iron nails into the foot of the mountain's north face. Haremakhet wants five of them stopped.

3. Stage 2

   The nail-drivers are dealt with. Haremakhet wants one of their iron nails to look at: they carry them in their bags.

   To do: Get Iron nail of the Coil
4. Stage 3

   I have one of the Coil's iron nails. I should use it on Haremakhet.

5. Stage 4

   The nail is smelted iron from Meroe, not sky-iron. The Coil think the pinnacle is a child of Apep turned to stone, and that iron, the bones of Set, will wake it. To purify the mountain Haremakhet needs the incense of the south: a lump of Kerma incense.

6. Stage 5

   I have Kerma incense. I should use it on Haremakhet.

7. Stage 6

   The incense is smoking on Amun's altar. I should speak to Haremakhet.

8. Complete

   Haremakhet purified the Pure Mountain, and the uraeus on its brow is Amun's again. He gave me a ram-head amulet and taught me the Gate of the Pure Mountain.
