Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Captain Paramessu, commander of Migdol of Horus, is staring east down the Ways of Horus as if they owe him water. (Requires A Stranger in Men-nefer and Warfare 50.)

2. Stage 1

   The wells along the Ways of Horus have gone bitter and the water-carriers have stopped coming. Paramessu wants me to ride on to the next fort, the Wells of Seti, and ask Scribe Hatiay of the Wells what's going on.

3. Stage 2

   Hatiay says Shasu raiders from the dunes are fouling the wells with carcasses and ambushing the water-carriers. I should drive them off: five Shasu raiders or slingers, in the dunes south of the road.

4. Stage 3

   The Shasu have scattered into the dunes. I should tell Scribe Hatiay at the Wells of Seti.

5. Stage 4

   Hatiay is afraid the raiders fouled the well at Raphia too, the last stop before Gaza. I should go and look.

6. Stage 5

   Raphia's well is sweet; the raiders never got that far. I should report to Captain Paramessu at Migdol of Horus.

7. Complete

   The water flows on the Ways of Horus again. Paramessu gave me a shield of the garrison and the freedom of the dispatch riders, who gallop between Migdol of Horus and Gaza.
