Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Djeho, the dwarf who dances at the doors of Ati's Stilt Village at night, has stopped dancing. The children say something comes up the ladders now. (Requires Down from the Sky, Devotion 60 and Handicraft 60.)

2. Stage 1

   Djeho dances for Bes, the god who guards doors, mothers and children from everything with teeth. Since the old image of Bes rotted, the dances do nothing, and lagoon crocodiles climb into the stilt-houses at night. I should kill four of them, on the lagoon shores away from the village.

3. Stage 2

   The crocodiles are dealt with, for now. Bes needs a new body to dance in: I should carve his image from a log of ebony with a knife.

   To do: Get Ebony Bes
4. Stage 3

   I've carved an ebony Bes, tongue out, feathers up, ugly as anything. I should give it to Djeho: use it on him.

   To do: Use Ebony Bes on Djeho the dancer
5. Complete

   Djeho set the ebony Bes in its shrine and danced until the drums gave out. The god has a home again, and he answers my prayers too: Bes, the Dancer at the Door.
