Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Meryptah has a list of what the fleet must bring home from Punt. At the top, underlined twice: 'Trees. Living.' (Requires Down from the Sky, Fieldcraft 70 and Handicraft 60.)

2. Stage 1

   Thutiy wants live myrrh trees for the terraces of Amun's temple at Thebes, as the Queen once brought them: thirty-one trees, roots and all. The fleet has thirty. Kesu, keeper of the myrrh, in the Myrrh Groves, decides which trees may travel. I should ask him.

   Updated by talking to Meryptah, scribe of the fleet
3. Stage 2

   Kesu will give a young tree, but saw-scaled vipers nest among the roots of the groves and have bitten two of his diggers. I should kill five of them.

4. Stage 3

   The vipers are gone. Kesu says a tree that travels must take its own earth, in a basket: I should weave a papyrus basket (four papyrus stalks and a knife).

5. Stage 4

   I have a papyrus basket. I should bring it to Kesu, in the Myrrh Groves.

6. Stage 5

   Kesu dug up a young myrrh tree with its earth, settled it in my basket and told it to be brave. I should carry it to Meryptah at Punt Harbour: use it on her.

7. Complete

   The thirty-first tree is aboard the Gift of Amun, with a sailor to water it. Kesu now lets me tap his myrrh trees, and Meryptah taught me the temple's recipe for kyphi and how to make an unguent cone and a priest's arm-censer.

• Cooking kyphi, the temple incense (Healing 70)
• Making the wig of the unguent cone (Handicraft 66) and the arm-censer of the terraces (Metalwork 70)
