Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

  1. Start

Nebetiunet, a priestess of the West in the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, has been waiting for the scarab-bearer. (Requires The Seventh Hour and Endurance 65.)

  2. Stage 1

Nebetiunet says Khepri's Dawn is the key to the Gate of the Seventh Hour, at the Mouth of the Cleft on the western edge of Abydos. I should hold it to the gate: use it on the gate, from my satchel rather than my neck.

To do: Use Khepri's Dawn on Gate of the Seventh HourUpdated by talking to Nebetiunet, priestess of the West
  3. Stage 2

The seven hollows lit, and the cliff beside the gate folded back: the Western Door, where the dead go down at sunset. I should follow them down to the Western Horizon.

To do: Go to The Western Horizon
  4. Stage 3

I've come down to the Western Horizon, where the dead arrive in the Duat. A ferryman with his face on backwards is looking at where I've been. I should talk to him.

  5. Stage 4

Mahaf, Who Looks Behind Him, says the vizier came through the Cleft three nights ago, straight into the seventh hour, skipping the six before it. The living can't skip hours. Before he lets me walk them, Mahaf wants the Coil's dead cleared out of the first hour: six Coil revenants, in the east of the cavern.

To do: Kill 6 × Coil revenantUpdated by talking to Mahaf, Who Looks Behind Him
  6. Stage 5

The revenants are scattered. I should tell Mahaf.

  7. Complete

Mahaf has let me pass. The Western Door at Abydos will open for me, and the road through the hours of the night is mine to walk. The vizier is six hours ahead, and the sun is waiting.
