Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

  1. Start

Harbour-master Ankhkhonsu at Port Mersa hasn't slept in days. Something in the harbour keeps breaking his ships. (Requires Ships Across the Sand and Endurance 45.)

  2. Stage 1

Ships at anchor in Port Mersa are being stove in by night, and Ankhkhonsu blames 'the sea'. Old Iny, the sailor who sits by the harbour, claims to know all about sea serpents. I should ask him.

  3. Stage 2

Iny says the beast is a Shipbreaker, a serpent of the deep that hates the smell of hulls and loves the smell of incense. Burn antyu on the shore and it will come. Chandler Khay in the Port Mersa market sells antyu incense.

  4. Stage 3

I have antyu incense. I should give it to Harbour-master Ankhkhonsu, who will have it burnt on the shore south of the harbour tonight.

  5. Stage 4

The incense smoke drifted out over the water, and something vast answered it. The Shipbreaker has come ashore south of the harbour. I must kill it.

To do: Kill 1 × The Shipbreaker
  6. Stage 5

The Shipbreaker is dead, or as dead as such things get. I should tell Harbour-master Ankhkhonsu.

  7. Complete

The harbour sleeps again. Ankhkhonsu's wife, a priestess of Hathor, Lady of Punt, taught me the Sails of Mersa, so I can always find my way back to the harbour.
