Shipwright Kemeni at Port Mersa is standing beside half a ship, counting on his fingers. (Requires Water for the Road and Handicraft 30.)
- Stage 1
Kemeni's ships are built in Coptos, taken apart, and carried across the desert a plank at a time. The last caravan of hull planks was ambushed near the raiders' camp in the desert east of Thebes. I should look for survivors there.

Kemeni put the ship together like a child's puzzle, grumbling at every plank. The Wadj-wer is seaworthy, and Kemeni has put her on the turquoise run: I may sail on her between Port Mersa and the Sinai landing whenever I like.
