Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Sinaranu, the richest tin-merchant in Ugarit, has nothing to sell. (Requires The Baskets of Joppa, Stonework 55 and Metalwork 58.)

2. Stage 1

   The Coil's docket said 'all the tin, at Ugarit'. Sinaranu says someone has been buying every talent of tin straight out of the mines. I should ask Foreman Urtenu at the Tin Mines of Ugarit, south of the city.

3. Stage 2

   Urtenu says red-mantled brokers pay double, in silver, and take every scrap. They camp east of the mines. I should deal with four of the Coil's tin-brokers.

4. Stage 3

   The brokers are gone. One of them should have kept a tally of where the tin went.

   To do: Get Tin-broker's tally
5. Stage 4

   I have the brokers' tally: tin sent down the King's Highway 'to the smelters at Timna, for the serpent's thousand blades'. I should show Sinaranu.

6. Stage 5

   Sinaranu says the Coil knows the secret of true bronze: Timna malachite and Ugarit cassiterite, smelted together. Urtenu's miners will let me at the rich veins now (Stonework 62), malachite is dug at Timna, and Sinaranu sells a little of both. I should smelt a true-bronze bar (Metalwork 58) and show him.

7. Stage 6

   I have a bar of true bronze. I should show it to Sinaranu.

8. Complete

   Sinaranu taught me to smith true bronze into sickle-swords, picks, maryannu helms and scale coats, and his tin house will sell it to me now.
