Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Aws of Dedan will tell anyone where cinnamon comes from, for a price. (Requires A Stranger in Men-nefer.)

2. Stage 1

   Aws says cinnamon is gathered from the nests of enormous birds, which build them of cinnamon sticks on cliffs nobody can climb. The gatherers leave big joints of meat below; the birds carry them up, the nests break, and down falls the cinnamon. He wants three pieces of raw beef to prove it.

3. Stage 2

   Aws took the beef and told me to lay it out on the rocks east of Dedan Oasis, where the great birds come. I should go there.

4. Stage 3

   I waited on the rocks east of Dedan. A vulture came, looked at the beef, looked at me, and left. No nests, no cinnamon. I should tell Aws.

5. Complete

   Aws laughed until he cried, admitted the birds are a story to keep the price up, and paid me in cinnamon: it comes from Punt, by ship, like everything else worth having.
