Thutiy, Overseer of the Treasury, is pacing the docks north of Port Mersa beside a fleet that isn't going anywhere. (Requires Ships Across the Sand and Wayfaring 55.)
- Stage 1
Thutiy has a fleet for Punt and nobody alive who knows the way, except old Hemaka the pilot, who sailed there as a boy with the Queen's ships. I should talk to Hemaka, on the docks.

Hemaka will pilot the fleet, but says no ship ever reached Punt without gifts for its chief, as the Queen's did: an axe and beads. I should bring Thutiy a sky-iron war axe and five faience scarabs.

The gifts are packed. Now Hemaka wants the eyes painted on the prow of the Gift of Amun, 'so she can see the way'. I should bring him cakes of red ink: use them on him.

The Gift of Amun has eyes. Thutiy says the fleet sails on the next north wind, and I'm to sail with it. I should tell him I'm ready.

Three weeks of sea, and the fleet came in to the quay of Punt, God's Land, the land of myrrh. I should report to Meryptah, scribe of the fleet, on the quay of Punt Harbour.

The first fleet in a generation has reached Punt. Meryptah has entered my name on her list, and the Gift of Amun will carry me between Port Mersa Docks and Punt Harbour whenever I like.
