Walkthrough

The quest journal, step by step.

1. Start

   Tamaku, a Puntite captain at Punt Harbour, is looking for a passenger who isn't afraid of the sea. (Requires Across the Sea of Punt, The Shipwrecked Sailor, Wayfaring 60 and Marshcraft 40.)

2. Stage 1

   Tamaku's boat went down in a storm with waves eight cubits high, and the sea threw me up alone on an island I've never heard of, except in Old Iny's tale. Something enormous is coming through the trees. Perhaps I should talk to it.

3. Stage 2

   The Lord of Punt, a serpent thirty cubits long, overlaid with gold, carried me to his hill in his mouth as gently as a nurse. He says a ship will come for me in four months, and that meanwhile I must eat. I should harpoon a fish in the deep water off the island's shore, an eel or a pufferfish, and bring it to him.

4. Stage 3

   The Lord of Punt fed me, told me of the kin he lost, and sent me home laden with gifts, as he sent Old Iny long ago. He says I may return, since the island has called me once. I should tell Tamaku, who is alive and back at Punt Harbour, that I am too.

5. Complete

   Tamaku wept, then laughed, then swore he'd seen the island in the fog for years. He'll sail me back whenever I like. The Lord of Punt gave me a ring set with the lapis of his brows, and taught me the word of the wave that wrecked us.
