The Oracle of Amun said the serpent goes south, to swallow the flood. Kasaya has gone south to Aswan. (Requires The Ram's Oracle, Endurance 50 and Devotion 30.)
- Stage 1
The flood is late: it's Akhet and the nilometer at Aswan is dry. Kasaya says if the river fails, Egypt starves, and chaos feeds the serpent. Khnumhotep, priest of Khnum and Keeper of the Nilometer, should know what's been done.
Updated by talking to Kasaya - Stage 2
Khnum breathes on the river's source every year, and this year nothing happened: the cataract's own scarab, the one that holds the hour of the flood, is missing. Long ago it was given to the kings of Kerma. I should go south to Kerma and speak to the Qore.
Updated by talking to Khnumhotep, priest of Khnum - Stage 3
The Qore of Kerma doesn't trust Egyptians. He'll talk if I deal with the Coil thieves robbing the Nubian Gold Mines, north of his city: six of their thieves and bowmen.
To do: Kill 6 × Coil gold-thief or Coil bowmanUpdated by talking to The Qore of Kerma - Stage 4
The Coil thieves are dealt with. I should report to the Qore.
- Stage 5
The Qore's father hid the scarab in the sanctuary at Abu Simbel, where the sun reaches the gods inside twice a year. A Coil envoy went there with a bound beast, the Akhekh, and Paser, the sun-priest, hasn't been heard from since. I should go to Abu Simbel and kill the beast.
To do: Kill 1 × The AkhekhUpdated by talking to The Qore of Kerma - Stage 6
The Akhekh is dead. Someone is coughing in the sanctuary at Abu Simbel. I should see who.
- Stage 7
Paser, the old sun-priest, gave me the Scarab of the Cataract: it had been in the lap of Ra-Horakhty's statue the whole time, in plain sight. Khnumhotep in Aswan will know how to wake the flood with it.
Updated by talking to Paser, priest of the temple - Complete
Khnum breathed, and the river rose. The Scarab of the Cataract is mine, the seventh of the seven, and Khnum himself will answer my prayers. Six scarabs in my hands; the fourth is still with Tutu, wherever Tutu is.
