Kasaya in Memphis has been thinking about where a man goes when he's left two shabtis behind. (Requires The Heretic's Sun, Thieves of the Place of Truth, Endurance 35 and Tomb Raiding 20.)
- Stage 1
Kasaya says tomb-cutters in Thebes have been paid in gold for a tomb that isn't on any list. Hay, one of Paneb's men from the robbers' tally, is drinking hard in Thebes Market. I should find him and make him talk.
Updated by talking to Kasaya - Stage 2
Hay will talk, but not while Paneb's enforcers are hunting him. They camp by the Colossi of Memnon on the west bank. Five of them should make the rest reconsider.
To do: Kill 5 × Paneb's enforcerUpdated by talking to Hay the tomb-cutter - Stage 3
Paneb's enforcers are dealt with. Hay should feel safe enough to talk now.
- Stage 4
Hay cut a secret chamber off the burial hall of the Tomb of Tausret, for 'a gentleman with Ptah's name on his seal'. Something was carried in alive, and wrapped. I should go into the Tomb of Tausret; Sergeant Nebamun's necropolis seal will let me in.
To do: Go to Tomb of TausretUpdated by talking to Hay the tomb-cutter - Stage 5
In the burial hall of the Tomb of Tausret an embalmer is at work: Iuf-ankh, the vizier's own, in the jackal mask of Anubis. On his table lies a figure wrapped in linen, breathing. Iuf-ankh doesn't like interruptions. I'll have to interrupt him.
To do: Kill 1 × Iuf-ankh the Embalmer - Stage 6
Iuf-ankh is dead. The figure on the table is still breathing under its wrappings. I should cut them away: use a knife on it.

- Stage 7
Under the linen is a young man's face, grey and furious and alive. I should talk to him.
- Complete
The man in linen is Prince Khaemwaset, heir of the Two Lands. He saw the vizier poison Pharaoh at the Feast of Opet, and was wrapped alive for it: 'a living king in a tomb is a door left ajar'. He gave me the King's Scarab, hidden in his own bandages, and his khopesh, and taught me the Kite. He's staying hidden in his wrappings, in the tomb.
